Katie Hill's Inappropriate Photos Lead to Her Bankruptcy

Democrat’s LEAKED PHOTOS Just Destroyed Her Life

(UnitedVoice.com) – Former Democratic Congresswoman Katie Hill (CA) resigned three years ago. After her resignation, she sued a British newspaper for printing inappropriate photos of her. Now, legal costs have wiped her out financially.

Hill took her seat as representative for California’s 25th District in January 2019. In November of the same year, she was forced to resign after it emerged that the married lawmaker had an inappropriate relationship with a member of her campaign team. On July 12, the ex-legislator tweeted that she “had to recently file for bankruptcy” as a result of fighting her case.

During the scandal, the Daily Mail and US political blog RedState published nude pics of Hill. A year later, she sued both media outlets and her ex-husband, accusing them of exploiting the photos for revenge porn and violating her privacy.

In April 2021, a federal judge ruled that the publication of the photos was justified by the media’s First Amendment rights and public interest in the case. In June that year, Hill complained that the judge had ordered her to pay the Mail’s legal costs, amounting to over $100,000.

The former politician told her Twitter followers that she doesn’t regret it and plans to continue fighting on behalf of “victims of cyber exploitation.”
