ESCAPED — Frantic Police Hunt Leads to Bodies

(UnitedVoice.com) – A 12-year-old girl in Tallapoosa County, Alabama, chewed through her restraints and managed to escape from her kidnapper, leading to a scene that sounds more like a horror movie than a news story. The unnamed girl staggered along the road until a good Samaritan picked her up and alerted authorities. When police tracked down the suspected criminal, they discovered far more than they expected.

Cops arrested Jose Paulino Pascual-Reyes, 37, for abducting the girl and found two decomposing bodies while searching his residence. According to WFSA, Sheriff Jimmy Abbett called the girl a hero but had little info to offer as of yet, as the investigation is ongoing.

The outlet revealed details from court documents about the youngster’s horrific ordeal. Pascual-Reyes reportedly kept her in a drugged state with alcohol, tied to a bedpost, and assaulted her for nearly a week. Her statement allowed police to execute the search of a mobile home occupied by the accused, leading to the macabre scene.

The suspect faces charges of kidnapping and three counts of capital murder. There’s no indication in reports of a third body or why there’s a third homicide charge on the docket. He also faces two counts of abusing a corpse. The coroner’s office took the remains to a local hospital for identification. Police transferred the child for medical treatment.
