Kim Jong-un Attends Funeral As COVID Concerns Grow

Kim Jong Un FUNERAL Discovery – New Report Sparks Rumors

(UnitedVoice.com) – North Korea has recently reported more than 2 million COVID-19 cases in the country. The reports are the first for the nation since the pandemic began. Amid the crisis, Kim Jong-un attended a large funeral.

On Monday, May 23, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Kim and thousands of other North Koreans attended a funeral for Hyon Chol Hae the previous day. The deceased was a Korean People’s Army marshal who helped groom Kim to be the leader of the nation before Kim Jong-il died in 2011. Kim was reportedly maskless while helping to carry Hyon’s coffin.

The funeral comes as the North Korean government has claimed the Omicron wave is subsiding, according to the Associated Press (AP). Instead of reporting the number of people who have tested positive for the virus, state media has only said 2.8 million people have a fever. They also claim only 68 people have died since April, a very low fatality rate.

The AP reported the country has limited testing capability, making it difficult to determine how many cases there are, but the Hermit Kingdom is also likely underreporting the deaths. Experts think officials are trying to protect Kim from criticism — not exactly a new activity in the authoritarian country.

Do you believe the North Korean media’s reports and death count?
