It looks like presidential hopeful Marianne Williamson might be the next candidate to leave the race. It was discovered this week that she has laid off all of her campaign staff.
Her ex-campaign manager, Patricia Ewing, confirmed the rumors saying, “Marianne Williamson has run an extraordinary campaign. We are all proud to have worked for her.”
Williamson issued her own statement, claiming that she isn’t giving up: “I am not suspending my candidacy, however; a campaign not having a huge war chest should not be what determines its fate.”
At her most popular, Williamson had less than 50 staffers working for her around the country, a number that has been going down for a while. When she decided to lay everyone off, she only had two people working for her in New Hampshire.
After Williamson failed to qualify for the December Democratic presidential debate, political pundits started suggesting that her campaign would soon be over, and it looks like they might be right.
