(UnitedVoice.com) – President Joe Biden gave his first speech before a joint session of Congress on Wednesday, April 28. Prior to this, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) stood on the Senate floor and ripped the POTUS apart.
McConnell told lawmakers Biden’s “daydreams” of a “socialist legacy” are never going to happen. His comments came after the president unveiled another massive spending bill that would give away $1.8 trillion taxpayer dollars. The senator went on to say Biden promised the American people he was going to “repair, restore, and heal” the country but he has “left much to be desired.”
The minority leader criticized the president for giving up on unity and instead giving “catnip” to his “liberal base” and covering it with “a hefty coat of false advertising.” Since taking office, the Biden administration has failed to work with Republicans on any important pieces of legislation. Instead of bipartisanship, they’ve tried to find ways to steamroll their bills through Congress. In short, his first 100 days have been dismal and there’s no expectation it’ll get better.
