(UnitedVoice.com) – Conservative media personality Megyn Kelly celebrated her 15th wedding anniversary last Wednesday, and she marked the occasion with an emotional tribute to her husband. Talking about her big day on her podcast, Kelly said marrying Doug Brunt was the best decision she’d ever made.
On March 1, 15 years after she married Brunt at Oheka Castle in Huntington, New York, Kelly began “The Megyn Kelly Show” podcast by looking back to the wedding. With a video of the ceremony playing in the background, she discussed how she and Brunt met, the first months of their relationship and how he proposed to her on a seaside bench after 14 months. She talked about how friends helped with the wedding— one did her hair, while another officiated at the service — and how the weather on that “perfect winter day” helped make it memorable.
Looking back on her life before meeting Brunt, Kelly said she felt “lucky” she’d been married before because she “went in eyes open” and knew what it took to make a successful marriage.
Kelly went on to talk about the couple’s three children, saying, “I will never do something more meaningful than this.” She also praised marriage in general, saying it was much more rewarding than “weird new sexuality titles” or a job that leaves you with no spare time. Finally, she thanked Brunt for asking her to marry him and being with her from then on.
It was obviously an emotional moment for Kelly. She told listeners she couldn’t watch the video clip of the wedding without crying and called it “the single best decision” she’d made in her life. In a world of celebrity weddings that lead to an equally high-profile divorce in a year or two, it’s nice to see a media personality whose marriage has stood the test of time.
