Anyone who’s been keeping tags on the FLOTUS knows she has a vested interest in ending cyberbullying. Despite cries of hypocriticism from the left, Melania has invested a significant amount of her time by her husband’s side, working toward that greater good. Now, she’s announced her next big project: the “Be Best” initiative, a project that encourages kids to stop cyberbullying and stay safe from the temptation of opiate class drugs.
• The First Lady explained her choice of topics at a rally earlier in the week. “As a mother and as First Lady, it concerns me that in today’s fast-paced and ever-connected world, children can be less prepared to express or manage their emotions and oftentimes turn to forms of destructive or addictive behavior such as bullying, drug addiction or even suicide,” she explained.
• Mrs. Trump also asserted how important it is for adults to “be best at educating our children about the importance of a healthy and balanced life,” reminding the crowd that initiative was for caregivers and guardians, too. “So today I’m very excited to announce Be Best – an awareness campaign dedicated to the most valuable and fragile among us, our children.”
• Melania personally designed the label for the project, which features a simple, chisel-marker lettering style with the words “Be Best” in red and blue against a white background. She also explained her desire for a simple yet impactful logo children of all ages could easily recognize.
• The initiative includes recommendation and guidelines to encourage children to be better citizens, including both online and offline spaces. It encourages positive interactions, staying away from drugs, and being better friends.
