(UnitedVoice.com) – The Democratic Party is trying to advance its key election legislation, the For the People Act (HR1). The bill has already passed the House and now the Senate needs to weigh in. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) recently warned of the dangers of the legislation.
In a March 23 interview with the conservative podcast “Ruthless,” McConnell said he thinks the Democratic Party is trying to “change the system to benefit themselves.” He explained the legislation does nothing but help the Left “win elections in perpetuity.” The senator repeated his opinion on Fox News.
Democrats' H.R. 1 would leave elections more vulnerable to cheating, send taxpayer dollars to subsidize campaigns, and would turn the bipartisan Federal Election Commission into a Democrat-controlled partisan body.

HR1 would expand early and mail-in voting. It would allow people to register to vote the same day they cast their ballots. Democrats want to restore voter rights to incarcerated felons and implement other radical changes. Currently, the party doesn’t have enough votes to defeat a GOP filibuster, but that could change if they end the filibuster as some on the Left are calling for.
