Mother Joins Son in Jail Over Allegedly Helping to Plot Deadly Shooting

(UnitedVoice.com) – Friends and family are mourning the death of an 18-year-old woman who was recently gunned down at a Home Depot in Florida. Brooklyn Sims leaves behind a 2-year-old daughter. Police recently revealed her alleged killer may have received help from his mother.

On August 11, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office arrested 20-year-old Keith Agee in connection with Sims’ death. According to law enforcement, they believe the suspect shot his girlfriend at Home Depot in Pensacola earlier that day. A few days later, on August 14, the department alleged his mother, 50-year-old Sheila Agee, helped plan the shooting.

In a post on Facebook, the department stated, “It Seems Momma Helped Suspected Murderer.” Police allege that investigators uncovered text messages between the two suspects that highlighted the mother’s involvement in the plot. Just before the murder, Keith allegedly sent his mom a message that said he was just going to “shoot her.” He said he hated it for their daughter, but he couldn’t “take it” anymore because Sims was just costing him money.

Sheila allegedly responded in the affirmative and told him that if he didn’t follow through and kill her, then he was a “b**ch.” She advised her son not to call his “nanny” because she would “try and talk [him] out of it.” The mother then helped plan when it would happen, telling her son she was giving Sims a ride but told him not to shoot at her vehicle because she didn’t want to be hit accidentally and die. Keith reportedly promised his mom he would wait until Sims got out of the car, then shoot her.

After some back and forth, Keith and Sheila decided it would be better if he shot Sims while she was at Home Depot. He said that he was looking forward to looking at the Sims’ face when she knew she was about to die.

Authorities have arrested Sheila and charged her with first-degree murder. She was in Alabama when she was picked up by police and will be extradited to Florida.

Breland Carter, Sims’ brother, told reporters that his sister “could light up the whole room” with her personality.
