Musician Brutally Attacked by Group of Men

(UnitedVoice.com) – Once upon a time, Tekashi 6ix9ine, born Daniel Hernandez, was one of the most popular up-and-coming artists on the rap scene. His song, “FeFe,” with Nicki Minaj, reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100. Another song, “Trollz,” also with Minaj, debuted at number one. His career fell apart when he got into legal trouble and cooperated with authorities. Recently, he landed in the hospital after being attacked.

On March 21, Hernandez was in a South Florida LA Fitness when at least three men approached him while he was in the sauna. The men attacked him, and the assault was caught on tape. TMZ published the video, which showed the rapper lying on the ground, trying to cover his face, while he was savagely beaten.

The rapper tried to defend himself, but he was sorely outnumbered. The gym staff called the police and EMS. Paramedics took Hernandez to a South Florida hospital, where he was reportedly treated for injuries to his back, face, and ribs.

A follow-up report from TMZ showed footage of the men before they attacked the rapper. A Surveillance video shows one man inside the facility letting another man inside, they were later joined by a third person before entering the sauna.

According to the celebrity gossip site, the men cussed Hernandez out for being a snitch while they were beating him. That allegation is what hurt the rapper’s career.

In 2018, federal authorities arrested Hernandez after he was indicted for racketeering, robbery, and drug trafficking. The crimes were related to his time as an alleged gang member with the Nine Trey Gangstas Bloods. He was looking at a possible life sentence for the crimes if convicted. Instead, the rapper decided to cooperate with law enforcement in exchange for a two-year sentence.

Since his release from jail, Hernandez has struggled to get his career off the ground again. Police have not yet arrested anyone for the attack.
