(UnitedVoice.com) – The House voted on the stimulus package on Tuesday, March 10. The Democratically-controlled chamber passed the legislation by a narrow margin. After the vote, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) took the time to attack Republicans.
During a press conference, the speaker celebrated the Democrats’ victory. She was excited about spending nearly $2 trillion of taxpayer money in an attempt to look as though she’s helping the American people. The congresswoman then took a swipe at Republicans saying they voted against the bill but she’s sure they’ll “show up at the ribbon-cuttings or the presentations.” Pelosi also said the GOP will use provisions of the bill when they speak to their constituents.
The Republican Party was never against giving the American people stimulus checks or helping small businesses. There are things in the bill they supported and have made that clear before. The lawmakers ultimately voted no because Pelosi’s bill was full of unnecessary spending. Her arguments, as usual, ignored the actual issue.
