Nancy Pelosi Does Complete 180, Sings a New Tune on Debt Forgiveness

Nancy Pelosi Just REVERSED Her Position – She’s Changing!

(UnitedVoice.com) – On August 24, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) issued a statement following President Joe Biden’s announcement that his administration was going to forgive up to $20,000 in student loan debt for some. The congresswoman applauded the POTUS’ decision, saying it would “empower every American.” A year ago, she was singing an entirely different tune.

In July 2021, Biden was facing criticism from the far left for not forgiving student loan debt. It was one of the most important pieces of their agenda and something the president promised to accomplish when he ran for office. Six months into his term, however, he’d still not done it, and his base was angry.

At the time, Pelosi spoke to reporters at a press conference and made her position very clear, saying the president doesn’t have the power to forgive debt. She said, “He can postpone, he can delay, but does not have [the] power” to forgive. That, the speaker explained, was only possible through “an act of Congress.”

While Pelosi might not remember what she said last year, Republicans do. Almost 100 conservative House lawmakers are demanding the speaker hold the president accountable for giving the Americans $500 billion in handouts. Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA) led the group, demanding the congresswoman “decisively act and stand by her previous statement.”

Do you think Pelosi should stand by her words from a year ago?
