Nancy Pelosi’s Husband Allegedly Attacked in Home Invasion

(UnitedVoice.com) – Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was in Washington, DC, in the early morning hours of October 28 when she received terrifying news. Her husband, Paul Pelosi, was seriously injured, and a home invader was to blame.

Early Friday morning, San Francisco police allege that 42-year-old David DePape broke into the Pelosis home and confronted the speaker’s husband. Politico reported he asked, “Where is Nancy? Where is Nancy?” Paul Pelosi told the intruder he had to use the restroom and called 911.

San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins told USA Today the 911 operator who answered Pelosi’s call “may have saved his life.” The dispatcher reportedly read between the lines and knew there was danger. Officers arrived at the home just before 3:30 a.m. and saw the two men struggling over a hammer. The police allege they saw the suspect strike the speaker’s spouse, and that’s when they tackled him and took him into custody.

On Friday afternoon, Paul Pelosi received emergency surgery. He sustained skull fractures and injuries to his arms. Speaker Pelosi wrote a letter to her colleagues thanking them for the well-wishes. Her husband is on the mend.

Authorities don’t know much about the attacker at this time. There are allegations that DePape believes in so-called conspiracy theories and had a list of people he wanted to target. However, police have not released a motive. Republicans and Democrats alike widely condemned the attack.
