(UnitedVoice.com) – Democrats were hoping for a blue wave on Tuesday, November 3, especially in the House of Representatives. They failed to achieve that goal. Now, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) might face the consequences.
According to reports, Democrats are considering a leadership change after losing several House seats this week. Sources told The Hill that some members of the caucus are thinking about installing House Democratic Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) as the next speaker. They believe he does a better job of uniting progressives and moderates than Pelosi does.
Two moderate Democrats told The Hill on Wednesday that they were reaching out to their colleagues about backing one of Pelosi’s top lieutenants, House Democratic Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries (N.Y.), for Speaker in the next Congress. https://t.co/AUYUnhRTkZ

Jeffries said he is not interested in the position of House Speaker. Further, it’s unlikely there’s enough support to oust Pelosi, but the writing is on the wall: the 80-year-old’s days as a leader are numbered. But who is next? A moderate like Jeffries or a radical like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY)?
