(UnitedVoice.com) – More than 800 people have died in LA County with 40% of those deaths occurring in 5 particular nursing homes, according to reports. The situation is so dire in these nursing homes, the National Guard has been instructed to send medical teams to assist nursing staff as California struggles to contain the deadly virus.
The National Guard medical teams consist of registered nurses, military medics, a physician’s assistant, and an administrative sergeant. This comes as Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom continues to urge Californians to stay indoors to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
It’s going to be nice outside this weekend. You might be feeling cooped up. Ready for life to go back to “normal.”
But can’t stress this enough:
CA can only keep flattening the curve if we stay home and practice physical distancing.
You have the power to literally save lives.

California is one of the many states with organized protests regarding the stay-at-home orders. With almost 40,000 cases and over 1,500 deaths, it’s the fourth state in terms of the most confirmed cases. California is ranked ninth in overall death rates.
