(UnitedVoice.com) – President Donald Trump has dramatically reduced the number of immigrants flooding American shores. His implemented regulations slowed illegal and legal migration to the country, which is especially important during the pandemic-fueled economic downturn. Joe Biden wants to change all that.
On December 13, the New York Times published a piece entitled, “As Biden Prepares to Take Office, a New Rush at the Border.” The newspaper admitted the former vice president’s lax immigration policies invite people to come to the US if he is sworn into office in January. Zolberg Institute on Migration and Mobility Director T. Alexander Aleinikoff said there will likely be “an increase of arrivals at the border.”

A new flood of immigrants could hurt the economy at a critical time. It’s just starting to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, and millions of Americans are still out of work. If Biden were to win and open the country’s borders, these migrants will take jobs from citizens who want to feed their families. That’s exactly what President Trump has been working so hard to avoid.
