(UnitedVoice.com) – In a shocking revelation by the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Thursday, President Obama knew specific details about the case against then-incoming National Security Advisor (NSA) Michael Flynn. According to the filing, senior administration officials were shocked. The new information is leading to a multitude of questions:
- What did Obama personally know?
- When did he know it?
- What role was he playing in the Russian hoax to prevent Trump from taking office or damaging him once in office?
The previously unknown information was revealed in a motion to dismiss filing to the US District Court for the District of Columbia. Flynn pled guilty to lying to the FBI after it set a trap for him. Flynn was investigated as a member of Trump’s 2016 election campaign for allegedly colluding with the Russians to help Trump win the election.
Over the last week, it was confirmed once and for all, that Democratic members of Congress and corrupt senior government officials perpetrated a “Russian Hoax.” In the initial stages of the investigation against Flynn, FBI investigators concluded there was no viable path to continue investigating him. Yet, leaders within the FBI secretly discussed their goal to get Flynn fired and concocted a scheme since the facts weren’t on their side.
The allegation by the FBI set the trap for the Mueller Investigation and later Congressional investigations by Democrats in Russian collusion hearings. On Thursday, it was revealed that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) repeatedly lied. He claimed he had verifiable information that Trump, and the campaign, colluded with Russia when in fact, he was told by every high-level Obama administrative official that there was no evidence.
What Did President Obama Know, and When Did He Know It?
In 2014, Obama fired Lt. Gen. Flynn as the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, which is the military’s version of the CIA. Obama had made known to the incoming Trump administration that he was “not a fan” of Flynn and warned against hiring him.
On January 5, 2017, the newly declassified documents show that the following persons met at the Oval Office to discuss Russian election interference:
- Vice-President Joe Biden
- Attorney General Sally Yates
- FBI Director James Comey
- CIA Director John Brennan
- Director of National Intelligence James Clapper
- National Security Adviser Susan Rice
After the meeting, Obama asked Yates and Comey to “stay behind” along with Biden. Then, the document states that Obama said he “learned of the information about Flynn” and his phone conversation with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. Obama was specific in that he didn’t want to know any more information, yet asked if the White House should treat Flynn “differently.”
The FBI wiretapped Flynn’s conversation with the Russian Ambassador and in the motion to file dismissal the DOJ said there were “word-for-word transcripts of the actual communications between Mr. Flynn and Mr. Kislyak.”
According to the document, Yates didn’t have any idea what Obama was talking about and seemed perplexed. She also remembered Comey talking about the Logan Act. After this meeting, Comey put his plan in place to entrap Flynn in his objective to ultimately bring down Trump.
How did Obama know about Flynn’s call with Kislyak, but the attorney general was clueless? Who told Obama? Was Obama directing any activities into an investigation without the DOJ’s knowledge? Was there more said that wasn’t recorded? What was Biden’s role and knowledge since he’s now running for president?
If anything is clear from this investigation, it’s that questioning the previous administration is more warranted than interrogating the current one.
On Thursday, President Trump responded and said the Obama administration targeted Flynn. He called Flynn “an even greater warrior” and added, “what happened to him should never happen again.” Trump said the previous administration was dishonest, scum, and accused them of “treason.”
In the coming days and weeks, there are going to be a lot of questions that need answers. Check back here often for the most recent updates.
