(UnitedVoice.com) – President Joe Biden has been in the Oval Office for almost two months but he has still not addressed a joint session of Congress. It’s so unusual reporters have begun asking questions. And now, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has admitted the truth about the speech.
On March 9, Biden’s chief of staff, Ron Klain, was asked when the president would give his first speech to a joint session. He claimed it would happen shortly after the COVID-19 package was signed. That took place a couple of days later, but on Sunday, March 14, there was no new information about it. That’s when reporters called on Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi for answers. She finally admitted there’s no “ … date for a joint session at this point.”
There’s still no official date for President Biden to give his first address to a joint session of Congress, @SpeakerPelosi said on Sunday.
The delay is increasing criticism of his early governing style. https://t.co/pyi5dVUgKg

Former Presidents Donald Trump and Barack Obama both gave their first addresses to joint sessions at the end of February, a little over a month after taking office. It’s odd that Biden has still not done it, especially given the fact that Democrats control Congress. What’s the holdup?
