(UnitedVoice.com) – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is fueling a new fight inside her own party after she refused to take action over a Dem representative’s vile tweets. A dozen House Democrats have signed a statement condemning Ilhan Omar (D-MN) but Pelosi is choosing instead to ignore the issue.
Anti-Semitism has no place in Congress.

On June 7, Omar – a notoriously anti-Semitic member of the so-called “Squad” – was questioning Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in a House Foreign Affairs Committee meeting when she sent a tweet comparing the US and Israel to Hamas and the Taliban. In response, twelve Democrats issued a statement calling her tweet “as offensive as it is misguided,” and demanding Omar “clarify” what she meant. Omar’s response was to call her colleagues ”shameful” for disagreeing with her.
Now the House GOP conference is leading calls for Omar’s removal from House committees over her repeated anti-Semitic outbursts and anti-Americanism. However, all Pelosi has done is issue a weak statement about drawing “false equivalencies” between democracies and terrorist groups, and now she says she doesn’t believe any more action is needed.
Meanwhile, other radical Dems are rallying around Omar. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) dismissed criticism of her as a “right-wing media echo chamber.” It seems Pelosi is too scared of people like Omar and Jayapal to stand up for America and its allies.
