(UnitedVoice.com) – Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) sailed to reelection in November. However, she stepped down as her party’s leader for the upcoming term. Recently, the 82-year-old congresswoman snapped at a reporter when asked about her future plans.
On Thursday, December 15, Pelosi held her weekly press briefing. A reporter asked the speaker if she planned to serve her entire two-year term now that she has stepped down from her leadership role. The congresswoman wasn’t happy about the question and responded by snapping at the reporter. “Don’t bother me with a question like that,” she said.
Pelosi continued, telling the reporter that she has already made her plans clear and asking questions like that is a “waste of [her] time.”
When the speaker announced she was not going to run for a leadership role in the new session, she said she would continue to serve in the House and serve out her two-year term. According to CNBC, Pelosi said the attack on her husband, Paul Pelosi, influenced her decision not to seek another term as the leader of the Democratic Party. He suffered brain injuries due to the attack at the end of October.
Do you think Pelosi should retire from Congress completely?
