Pentagon Funds Border Wall [PLUS: De Blasio Flakes and Obama Blamed for ISIS]

Pentagon Authorizes $3.6 Billion for Border Wall

The Pentagon announced it has approved the diversion of nearly $3.6 billion in funding from defense budgets to help pay for the President’s border wall.

Defense Secretary Mark Esper wrote in a letter to Congress that funding will come from 127 ongoing military construction projects. Spreading sources out in this manner helps to prevent excessive financial pressure from causing problems with current projects.

Construction, which is set to begin towards the end of the year, will primarily begin in areas of land already owned by the federal government. Building on privately-owned land isn’t expected to initiate until late 2020, as many landowners have yet to agree.

Chuck Schumer and other Dems are, as you might expect, extremely incensed by the news.

Director of Operations Lt. Gen. Andrew W. Poppas believes that once the walls are built in the first 11 areas, the US can begin reducing troops at the border. Nearly 2,000 National Guard members and 5,500 active-duty troops patrol the border daily as of right now.

NYC Mayor Worked 7 Hours in a Month

Public records released this week show that New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio spent only seven hours at City Hall during the month of May. Not so coincidentally, this was the month he started his presidential campaign.

According to Politico, De Blasio made $254,392 as New York’s mayor in 2018. If he is still being paid at that rate, he makes about $21,200 per month before taxes. For 7 hours, this works out to over $3,000 per hour — nice gig if you can get it.

How exhausting it must be to have to actually do some work (heavy on the sarcasm, here, folks). Yes, we know it’s summer – but you still have to work.

De Blasio’s absence has been noticed. Missing posters were recently seen around New York, most mocking the Mayor’s presidential campaign and calling him out for failing to do his job.

Mattis Blames Obama and Biden for ISIS

Former Secretary of Defense James Mattis called out Obama and Biden in an interview with Fox & Friends on Tuesday. He believes both parties directly contributed to ISIS’s development over the previous decade. This is a belief he shares in his new book, “Call Sign Chaos: Learning to Lead.”

The former Defense Secretary, who was head of US Central Command from 2010 to 2013, also claims Obama was so set on keeping his campaign promise to get troops out of Iraq, he never considered the consequences. He makes the same claim of Biden.

An excerpt from the book reads:

“It was like talking to people who lived in wooden houses but saw no need for a fire department. … I found him an admirable and amiable man. But he was past the point where he was willing to entertain a ‘good idea.’ He didn’t want to hear more; he wanted our forces out of Iraq. Whatever path led there fastest, he favored.”

Mattis was eventually fired by Obama in December of 2012. He later stepped up as Defense Secretary for President Trump but resigned after only two years.
