(UnitedVoice.com) – On June 16th, President Trump had a meeting with several victims of “deadly interactions with police.” The commander-in-chief wanted to know their opinions on police reform. He ended the meeting with “…a commitment to those families.”
The Trump administration released an executive order titled, “Safe Policing for Safe Communities” the same day. It aims to “promote safer policing” by restricting officers from using chokeholds unless they believe there’s an immediate risk to their own safety.
The new order also implements an information-sharing system to track officers who repeatedly break protocol. You can read it here in full.
Whitehouse Press Secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, praised the president’s actions and applauded him for pushing for a fairer justice system.
