(UnitedVoice.com) – President Donald Trump is working hard to get America through the coronavirus pandemic. Healthcare workers across the country are speaking up and telling government officials they need more medical supplies. In response, the commander-in-chief is invoking the Defense Production Act (DPA) to get them the personal protection equipment (PPE) they need.
Last week, President Trump said he was going to try to stop “profiteers” from sending masks, gloves and additional gear to other countries.
Trump said his administration will try to stop “profiteers” from exporting medical protective gear, shortly after picking a fight with manufacturing giant 3M, a producer and exporter of face masks used to protect health care workers from the COVID-19.https://t.co/pfrT1c9vxF

Manufacturer 3M disagreed with Trump’s decision and said there’ll be “significant humanitarian implications.” Trump moved forward with the plan, saying the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will stop the export of the protective gear.
In addition to stopping the export of vital supplies, the White House has obtained some from China. On March 29, a plane carrying 80 tons of gowns, gloves, masks and other supplies landed in Washington, D.C. This was the first of 22 commercial flights the government is using to bring supplies to the US.
It may seem like the president is being harsh by banning the export of medical supplies, but he’s doing what he needs to do. America first. That’s always been President Trump’s motto and he’s proving how much he means it right now.
