Ransomware Attack Hits U.S. As Biden Recklessly Tried To Play Tough

(UnitedVoice.com) – While Americans celebrated their country’s independence over the weekend, hackers were busy attacking businesses. The Russian hacking group, REvil, claimed responsibility for hits on more than 1,000 companies around the world, including in the US. Some are placing blame on the shoulders of President Joe Biden.

According to the Daily News, more than 200 US businesses were targeted in ransomware attacks over the 4th of July weekend. The hackers originally targeted the Florida-based company Kaseya and its software tool called VSA. That tool is used to distribute computer network software updates. When those updates took place, the hackers were able to infiltrate other businesses.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) blamed Biden for reportedly giving Russian President Vladimir Putin a list of targets that were off-limits, rather than just telling him to stop allowing any attacks on American companies.

Rebekah Koffler, a former Defense Intelligence Agency officer, said the cyber attacks exposed “Biden’s weakness.” The president has not punished the Russian president in any way for allowing the hackers to operate out of the former Soviet country. She said he’s playing right into Putin’s hands. It’s time for Biden to act and put an end to these cyber attacks once and for all.
