Almost 3,000 pounds of smoked Kielbasa sausage has been recalled due to metal contaminants being found in some packages. Although no injuries have been reported yet, the issue was discovered after a consumer complained of finding metal in their sausage. If you have bought any of the packages below, either return them to the store where they were purchased or dispose of them for your own safety.
The products in question have an establishment number “539oA” with the USDA mark of inspection. Specific types and weights included in the recall are listed below.
- One pound “North Country Smokehouse Original Old Fashioned Polish Style Kielbasa” vacuum-packed packages with “Use by 05/09/19.”
- 12-ounce “North Country Smokehouse Natural Old Fashioned Polish Style Kielbasa” vacuum-packed packages with “Use By 04/23/19.”
- One pound “Kilchurn Estate Smoked Kielbasa” vacuum-packed packages with “Use By 05/09/19.”
