Record Breaking Border Arrests Top 2 Million
(UnitedVoice.com) – When President Joe Biden took office, he reversed many of former POTUS Donald Trump’s immigration policies. Immigrants started flooding the border almost immediately, throwing the process into chaos. Fiscal year 2022 has seen a record number of arrests.
On September 19, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released its operational statistics for August. The number of encounters at all the US borders stood at more than 2.4 million last month. Most of those migrants, over 2.1 million, were coming into America across the southern frontier. Authorities have deported or repatriated more than 1.3 million.

According to the report, 69% of encounters on the border were single adults, up 4.2% from the previous month. Encounters with families and unaccompanied minors decreased by 1% and 14%, respectively.
In the report, CBP Commissioner Chris Magnus claimed the agency’s team has been working “around the clock to secure [the] border” as humanely as possible. He said he believes “failing communist regimes” in Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua have contributed to the rising numbers. He added that the president’s administration is working with US “partners in the region to address the root causes of migration.”
Meanwhile, Republicans don’t believe the president’s administration is doing much to stem the flow of illegal immigrants into America.
2 million illegal immigrants were encountered at the border in one year.
That's President Biden's legacy.
