Republicans About to Outnumbers Democrats in Florida

(UnitedVoice.com) – Political pundits have been arguing for years that Florida’s status as a swing state was changing. It seems like those pundits might be right. A big change is happening in the Sunshine State and Republicans are beneficiaries.

According to a bombshell POLITICO article on September 20, Florida is on track to have more Republican voters than Democratic ones for the first time in modern history. In 2008, when former President Barack Obama secured the state, there were 700,000 more Democrats than Republicans. Just 13 years later, Dems only hold a 23,055 lead.

In his blog, Leftist consultant Steve Schale said he thinks the GOP will completely overtake Democrats by the end of the year. He pointed out that Republicans already have a higher voter turnout in the state.

Although the shift hasn’t happened yet, it’s a great sign for Republican Governor Ron DeSantis who is up for re-election in 2022. He’s extremely popular with Conservatives, so having more GOP voters would undoubtedly benefit his campaign. It would also give the conservative candidate for president in 2024 an edge.

Florida is an incredibly important state during presidential elections and it will have 31 Electoral College votes next time around. That could mean the difference between four more years of President Joe Biden or not.
