(UnitedVoice.com) – In the final weeks of President Donald Trump’s administration, he created a program called “Operation Talon” to go after immigrants in the country illegally who were convicted sex offenders. In February, it was revealed that ICE suspended the program while it awaited direction from the new administration. Lawmakers are now demanding the president reinstate it.
On February 19, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost sent Biden a letter demanding he reinstate Operation Talon. US Congressman Vern Buchanan (R-FL), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), and 18 other state attorneys general also said ICE should be able to continue the operation and get violent sex offenders off of the streets.
Operation Talon was a nationwide operation established by the Trump administration targeting sex offenders subject to deportation.@JoeBiden cancelled it.

ICE continues to investigate and remove offenders even without Operation Talon, but the Trump-era program allocates extra resources toward the mission. There’s no reason for the Biden administration to have ever allowed it to lapse, and it’s time he started taking the safety of Americans seriously.
