Review All Qualifications

When is the last time you applied for anything? It doesn’t matter if it was a credit card or government assistance. Each time you apply for any kind of help or credit, it should be a two way street. Make sure they meet your standards as much as they are making sure you meet theirs.
When it comes to government assistance, review the qualifications to make sure you can meet them. For instance, if you’re only planning to take one college course, you aren’t going to meet the standards required for government grants. When you apply for a credit card, do you really feel like they deserve a one-time $89 processing fee, a $75 yearly fee, and a random $35 fee to be paid once a year?
Review all the qualifying terms to see if you are a good fit for whatever you are applying for. Then, see if they are a good fit for you. Unnecessary fees can add up so fast that you max out your credit line as soon as you get it, making your credit score go down instead of up. So, make sure that you aren’t the only one being measured when it comes time to apply for any kind of credit or assistance. And, if you do need assistance temporarily, put your pride in your pocket and use that as a motivating factor to get you up and running again.
