DeSantis 2024 Plans Released in New Report

(UnitedVoice.com) – Former President Donald Trump has just announced he’ll “very, very, very probably” run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024. There’s been speculation that he was planning on running, but many have been looking at Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) as a possible rival. Now, a leak says DeSantis plans to step aside and clear the way for a second Trump campaign.

On November 2, Vanity Fair reported that unnamed sources are saying DeSantis doesn’t plan to run against Trump. According to the magazine, the governor has told donors he won’t enter the race if Trump does. If true, that’s good news for the GOP; the two are the highest-profile and most popular figures in the Republican Party, but reports also claim they’re bitter rivals. The campaign could tear the party apart if they fought for the nomination.

Another source quoted in Vanity Fair hinted at DeSantis’s plan if he does stand aside; the governor is just 44, and there’s no pressure on him to run this time around. If Trump were to win in 2024, the 22nd Amendment would preclude him from running for a third term. The source said DeSantis “can walk into the presidency in 2028 without p***ing off Trump or Florida,” and another four years as governor will build his profile enough to make that a near-certainty — if he’s reelected.
