Ron DeSantis Responds to COVID Predictions by Out-of-Touch Experts

(UnitedVoice.com) – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) has not allowed the pandemic to hurt his state the way it has in places like California and New York. The Sunshine State has been open for business for months. Recently, he talked to Fox News host Laura Ingraham about the possibility of a summer surge of COVID-19.

During an interview on June 22, Ingraham asked DeSantis what he thinks about a recent prediction by Dr. Peter Hotez, the dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, about a summer surge. The doctor recently said summer travel could lead to an increase in the number of cases. The Florida governor doesn’t buy it.

“Well, you know, some of these people get put out there all the time when they’ve been dead wrong over the last year,” DeSantis told Ingraham. He explained that when his state sent kids back to school last August, experts said there would be massive spread in the schools and that never happened.

Worse yet, DeSantis explained that even though these people have been wrong time and again on these big issues, they keep repeating the same things. Fortunately, the governor isn’t backing down and his state is remaining open.
