(UnitedVoice.com) – The 2024 presidential election is approaching quickly. Former President Donald Trump threw his hat into the ring for the GOP nomination months ago. Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has also said she wants to become the Republican candidate. Ex-Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin has now offered a word of advice to another candidate who many expect to announce his bid for the White House.
On February 14, Palin sat down for an interview with Eric Bolling on his Newsmax show “The Balance.” He asked the 2008 vice presidential candidate about her thoughts in regard to the 2024 election. She responded that she is “all about healthy competitive primaries.” Regarding the people who have or might try to compete against Trump, she says they “have a lot of guts.”
Palin went on to praise the former president for what she believes are his accomplishments. Bolling asked her if she thought Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) would run in 2024. She responded that she doesn’t think “he needs to” because she believes he will be president in the future. But Palin believes he’s currently in the right position because he “sets the tone” for other GOP governors across the country. Therefore, the conservative explained he should remain in that role.
DeSantis has not announced his intentions for 2024. Reporting has indicated his team is allegedly preparing for a possible presidential run, but that has not been confirmed. The governor is a rising star in Republican politics, winning reelection by the largest margin in recent years. His base has grown in the Sunshine State and around the country. DeSantis also has the backing of major GOP donors.
Still, the conservative has remained silent about his future plans as he continues to push laws through in Florida with his supermajority legislature, bolstering his resume and earning more support.
