(UnitedVoice.com) – On August 3, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) announced gyms, shows, and indoor restaurants will require vaccine passports from customers to enter. The Democrat said if people want to participate in activities in the city, they’ll need to get the shot and if they don’t, they won’t be able to do too many things. Later that day, Fox News host Sean Hannity slammed the mayor for his decision.
On Tuesday night, Hannity said the new vaccination rules are going to disproportionately impact minorities. The television host reminded his viewers Democrats have been insisting voter ID is the “Jim Crow of the 21st Century,” but now they’re requiring essentially the same thing for people to enter restaurants and other establishments.
Aside from the racist implications of the regulation, Hannity discussed the privacy concerns. Forcing people to share private medical information is a clear violation of their personal rights. De Blasio’s order forces people to hand over that information and share their “medical documents with employees at every bar, every sporting event, every concert and other random strangers” in the Big Apple.
Protests have already popped up across the city as residents decry the rule. President Joe Biden hasn’t condemned the mayor and neither has embattled Governor Andrew Cuomo (D). Their silence speaks volumes as minorities and white people alike fight for their Constitutional rights in the city.
