(UnitedVoice.com) – After failing to claim a victory in South Carolina on Saturday, Tom Steyer called it quits.
Steyer, a successful businessman, was counting on South Carolina to turn his campaign around. Up until former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg joined the race, Steyer was one of the top spenders, wasting more than $200 million on advertising. In Nevada alone, he spent more than $13 million.
In South Carolina, Steyer spent $23 million on radio and television ads, hoping to reach African-American voters.
It’s expected that more candidates will drop out next week after Super Tuesday results start rolling in. We’ll keep you updated as the presidential race continues to heat up.
