(UnitedVoice.com) – President Joe Biden’s administration has been awash with rumors of bullying. Morale in Vice President Kamala Harris’ office is allegedly so low that multiple officials spoke out last year. Her staffers have denied the rumors but they persist. Now, the spotlight is on another administration official.
On Monday night, February 7, Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) Director Eric Lander resigned from office after a two-month long White House investigation leaked to the press accusing him of systemic bullying. According to the investigation, Biden’s top science adviser demeaned and bullied multiple staff members. Fourteen current and former OSTP staffers described working in a toxic environment where they say Lander often bullied, dismissed and cut off subordinates.
Many of the staffers accuse Lander of yelling and humiliating staff members in front of their peers. The investigation determined there was “credible evidence of disrespectful interactions with staff” by the former director and OSTP leadership.

Critics point out that despite Biden’s day-one promise to fire disrespectful staffers “on the spot. No ifs, ands or buts,” he didn’t terminate Lander. Just like his pledge to unify the country, the latest saga is another example of how easily the president breaks the promises he has made to the American people.
