(UnitedVoice.com) – President Trump announced via Twitter on Wednesday that he’ll be attending March for Life, an anti-abortion rally held in Washington, DC.
See you on Friday…Big Crowd! https://t.co/MFyWLG4HFZ
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 22, 2020
This will mark the first time that a sitting president will attend the march. This isn’t his first milestone, though. In 2018, he became the first president to speak at the event via video feed.
This announcement didn’t take many by surprise. The Trump administration has made it a goal to start regulating abortion access across the country. Trump has made multiple comments about his pro-life stance by appointing anti-abortion judges and making sure that federal funds aren’t used for abortions.
Friday’s march has the theme of “Life Empowers: Pro-Life is Pro-Woman.” Other scheduled speakers include Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) and House Minority Whip, Steve Scalise (R-LA).
Thank you, President Trump, for speaking up for all the citizens of the United States, no matter how small.
