(UnitedVoice.com) – President Trump celebrated two major wins for Republicans yesterday, in California and Wisconsin. With the 2020 election fast approaching, it’s a notable feat. Not since 1998 has a Democratic-held Congressional seat been in danger of flipping back to Republican, according to reports.
President Trump congratulated Navy veteran Mike Garcia for his hard work. Garcia took a 12-point lead in California’s 25th District, which was once held by shamed Rep. Katie Hill (D-CA). Hill resigned last year for inappropriate behavior.
NEW: Republican Mike Garcia declares victory over Democrat Christy Smith in #CA25 US House special election race. It’s the first time in 20+ years the GOP has flipped a blue Congressional seat red in California, though it was red in 2018 when Katie Hill flipped it blue. @FOXLA pic.twitter.com/Fl9RchDENo

In Wisconsin, Republican Tom Tiffany defeated Democrat Tricia Zunker by a landslide. Tiffany’s filling the vacant seat left by Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI).
President Trump took to Twitter, congratulating both on their wins.
Big Congressional win in California for Mike Garcia, taking back a seat from the Democrats. This is the first time in many years that a California Dem seat has flipped back to a Republican. Also, Tom Tiffany beat his Democrat rival BIG in Wisconsin. Two great Congressional WINS!

These losses land a devastating blow for Democrats as they head into the 2020 presidential election. However, Dems are still pushing for a vote-by-mail election system saying poll voting is a public risk due to COVID-19.
