Trump Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

( – The Nobel Peace Prize is one of the world’s most honored awards. On Wednesday morning, September 9, a member of the Norwegian Parliament nominated President Trump for the 2021 selection for working to resolve conflicts across the globe.

The nomination counters Democratic claims during the 2020 primary that Trump was not respected on the national stage.

The nomination for the prized award comes after Trump brokered a peace deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), worked to reduce tensions on the Kashmir border between India and Pakistan, as well as those between North and South Korea. Some have argued Trump deserved to be given a Nobel Peace Prize in 2020 for being the first president since Jimmy Carter to not start a war or engage the US military in a new international armed conflict.

The last US President to win a Nobel Peace Prize was Barack Obama in 2009. It was given to him at the beginning of his administration with no foreign affairs accomplishments. The Norwegian Nobel Committee said it was for his efforts to “create a new climate in international politics.” In reality, he did nothing to deserve it.
