(UnitedVoice.com) – The city of Minneapolis has become a warzone as people took to the streets to violently protest. The subject? The death of George Floyd, an African-American man who died in police custody earlier this week.
According to police, Floyd was stopped because he matched the description of someone who committed forgery at a local grocery store. He also allegedly resisted police.
His death sparked so much national outrage that President Trump ordered the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) to expeditiously investigate the matter.
….I have asked for this investigation to be expedited and greatly appreciate all of the work done by local law enforcement. My heart goes out to George’s family and friends. Justice will be served!

The four officers who arrested Floyd have been fired after a video of the incident was released. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey posted a tweet saying it was the “right call” and apologized to the African-American community for the officer’s treatment of Floyd.
Warning – graphic video:
He deserves all the justice. He’s innocent and we need to spread awareness that no matter what skin color we have, country we live that we will always be the same. HUMAN.#JusticeForGeorgeFloyd #GeorgeFloyd #BlackLivesMatter #BlackLivesMatters pic.twitter.com/Tx7IFTs5mk

Governor Tim Walz has called in the Minnesota National Guard and is warning residents to stay indoors and away from certain parts of the city as the rioting intensifies.
This is a developing story.
