(UnitedVoice.com) – On February 5, 2020, President Donald Trump was acquitted of the impeachment charges against him. In the following days, the president decided that he only wanted people who support his foreign policy on the National Security Council and fired Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman. Democrats were immediately outraged, but now, the president is revealing that White House staff supported the move.
During an interview on “Geraldo in Cleveland,” Trump said Vindman was “very insubordinate” when he went to Congress to complain about the president’s Ukraine phone call. He explained that he’s “not a fan” of the former national security official and apparently nobody else is either.
The president told host Geraldo Rivera that the “whole building, many people in the building started applauding.”
In addition to Vindman, Trump also fired the former Ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Sondland. He was well within his rights as commander-in-chief to let both of the officials go.
