(UnitedVoice.com) – It’s no secret that President Donald Trump wants to reopen America as soon as possible. Our economic recovery depends on it. This wish extends to the Republican National Convention (RNC), which is in danger of not happening based on a governor’s decisions on reopening his state. Trump isn’t having any of it.
The convention is scheduled for August 24 through August 27 in Charlotte, North Carolina, but that might not happen if Governor Roy Cooper doesn’t guarantee full attendance will be allowed.
I have zero interest in moving the Republican National Convention to Doral in Miami, as falsely reported by the Fake News @nytimes in order to stir up trouble. Ballroom is not nearly big enough & would like to stay in N.C., whose gov. doesn’t even know if he can let people in? https://t.co/nqBBPv4VXS

In a series of tweets on Monday, President Trump issued an ultimatum to Cooper. Trump said either the governor allows full capacity or he’ll find a new home for the 2020 convention.
In response, Cooper stated he cannot guarantee the convention can go on as planned because “we don’t know what our situation is going to be regarding COVID-19 in North Carolina.”
Of course, the governor doesn’t know what the virus will be doing in August. No one does. Experts say the pandemic may last 2 years. Can we afford to put everything on hold that long?
