Visa CAVES – Democrats Win Terrifying Victory
(UnitedVoice.com) – Gun ownership has been under attack during President Joe Biden’s administration. The POTUS has implemented several gun control measures. Now, payment processing companies have done something that’s raising red flags.
On Saturday, September 10, Visa Inc. announced it would adopt the International Organization for Standardization’s (ISO) code for gun sales. Now, every time someone buys something at a gun shop, the financial processor will categorize purchases differently than a sale from another store. Mastercard and American Express will begin doing the same.
The ISO approved the new merchant code the week before the announcement. Anti-gun advocates are applauding the decision to track gun store sales differently and lauding it as a way to reduce suspicious purchases. For example, a payment processor could theoretically flag activity if someone spends thousands of dollars at multiple stores buying ammo. Second Amendment supporters feel those arguably legitimate acquisitions might now cause problems for people who didn’t do anything wrong.

CNBC reported VISA issued a statement claiming the company intends to proceed with the change but promises to “protect all legal commerce on” its network. A spokesman for the National Rifle Association (NRA) said the decision would violate Americans’ rights every single time they make a purchase at a gun store using a credit card.
