Vladimir Putin “Blacklist” Discovered – Look Who’s on It

(UnitedVoice.com) – After Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, tensions escalated quickly between the United States and Russia. The US imposed harsh sanctions to motivate its retreat while Russia responded in kind. On Monday, May 24, it issued a blacklist of nearly 1,000 Americans who the Kremlin says are no longer allowed in the country. The list includes US politicians, government officials, media, business leaders, entertainers, and even some politicians who have passed away. The move is largely symbolic as no one is knocking on the doors to visit the country.

Russia Promises to Rebuff Washington

On Saturday, May 21, Russia published a lengthy press release announcing those barred from entering the country. It stated that US actions were hostile and would come back to hurt America. Additionally, the Russian statement said the country’s counter-sanctions would stop neo-colonial America from imposing its own rules-based standards on the world and force the US to change its behavior based on new geopolitical realities.

Still, Russia said it doesn’t seek a confrontation with the United States but instead wants an open, honest, and mutually respectful conversation. The press release emphasized the Kremlin believes the US people are separate from the government leaders who incite Russophobia.

Even Dead American Politicians Make the List

Russia is taking action against several prominent politicians in what it calls “a list of American citizens who are permanently banned from entering the Russian Federation.”

So, who made the list of Americans banned from Russia? As expected, President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin all made the cut. Additionally, it included Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki. The latter expressed her disappointment and tweeted that she’ll have to change her summer vacation plans.

The list also included House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) from Congress.

Curiously enough, the list also included several former members of Congress who passed away. The list included former Senators John McCain (R-AZ), Harry Reid (D-NV), and Orrin Hatch (R-UT). Among many news anchors and reporters, the list included famed actor Morgan Freeman.

So, what do you think of the long list of Americans barred from Russia? Will it or the US response to Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine or potential threats against other countries impact you?
