Scientists from around the world having been working for years on developing technologies to effectively harness the power of ocean waves. The U.S. just brought online its first wave-produced electricity using tall buoys placed off the island of Oahu, in Hawaii, near Kaneohe Bay. While these buoys can generate enough electricity to power approximately 18 homes, a team in Oregon is currently working on a system that could power hundreds! Cowabunga dudes!
