(UnitedVoice.com) – From the moment President Donald Trump took office in 2017, the Democratic Party was looking for ways to get him out of office. When the Russian witch hunt failed, they found something else to latch on to: a phone call he had with Ukarainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. That’s what they ultimately used as grounds for impeachment.
On December 18, 2019, just a week before Christmas, the Democratically-led House voted on articles of impeachment for obstruction of Congress and abuse of power. The articles passed by almost party line votes. Afterward, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) refused to deliver the vote to the Republican-led Senate for two weeks. Eventually, the trial began in January.
The president’s attorneys made it clear the entire saga was a hit job from the Left. Attorney Jay Sekulow eviscerated the Democratic Party during the trial.
On February 5, less than two months after the House voted, the impeachment trial was over. The Senate voted to acquit the commander-in-chief and once again, the Democrats failed. Many believe it was nothing but a power grab by a caucus angry that they weren’t able to defeat the president in a free and fair election.
