(UnitedVoice.com) – Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) was once one of the shining stars in the GOP. The congresswoman is the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, who served in the government for decades. She became the third-highest-ranking Republican in the House during her short time in Congress. Her popularity in the party ended abruptly when she trashed former President Donald Trump. Now, there’s talk about the possibility of her running for president.

On Sunday, July 3, Cheney appeared on ABC News’ “This Week” and spoke to journalist Johnathan Karl. He asked whether she planned to run for president in 2024 to save her party. The congresswoman didn’t rule out the possibility of a run, but she hasn’t decided what she wants to do.

Cheney said she’s currently focusing on the January 6 committee and her reelection campaign.

Cheney voted with Trump about 93% of the time. She’s one of the party’s most conservative members, but destroyed her own popularity when she attacked the former president over the January 6 riot. The congresswoman accused him of inciting the incident and pushed for his second impeachment. When the Senate acquitted him, she persisted.

The Wyoming congresswoman is now facing a primary against Trump-backed Harriet Hageman. Polling by Club for Growth shows Cheney trailing her competitor by 30 points. If she is fighting this hard to win reelection in her state, do you think she could win a presidential primary?
