(UnitedVoice.com) – On January 8, Twitter permanently banned President Donald Trump from its platform. Other social media sites are also preventing the leader of the free world from posting. Now, officials around the globe are speaking out in support of the POTUS.
On Monday, January 11, French Minister of State for European Affairs Clement Beaune, expressed shock over the decisions, saying there should be “public regulation of big online platforms.” German Chancellor Angela Merkel slammed social media companies for banning Trump, saying private companies shouldn’t govern free speech.
Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalny, who isn’t exactly a supporter of Trump, even decried the ban.
Other world leaders expressed similar sentiments and said they believe it may be time to take action against social media companies. It looks like Twitter, Facebook, et al. made a very grave mistake when they decided to silence the US commander-in-chief.
