Biden Falls to Lowest Point of HIs Presidency

(UnitedVoice.com) – President Joe Biden is less than a year away from his reelection, and it’s not looking great. In poll after poll, the American people are indicating they don’t approve of the job he’s doing as commander-in-chief. Another survey is reinforcing that fact with its latest numbers.

New Poll

On December 18, Monmouth University released a new poll showing the president has hit a new low. The survey was taken from November 30 to December 4 and sampled 803 Americans.

The pollsters found a measly 34% of people approve of the president’s overall job performance. Meanwhile, 61% of the country disapproves. That was the lowest Monmouth University approval rating for the president since he took office. His approval rating has dropped four points since September, and his disapproval rating has increased six points.

The Policies

The poll found Americans disapprove of the president’s job performance in five different policy areas. The vast majority (69%) of those polled don’t like the way Biden has handled the issue of immigration. Millions of migrants have poured into the US since he took office, and while most have been deported or expelled, hundreds of thousands have been allowed to remain while they await the outcomes of their immigration cases. They have flooded Republican and Democratic states and cities, siphoning money and resources away from American citizens who might need help.

The survey also found 68% do not approve of Biden’s handling of inflation. Even though it has leveled off, the American people are still suffering the cost of high prices. Additionally, 53% believe he’s done a poor job with unemployment, and 52% disagree with his handling of energy infrastructure. Finally, 54% disagree with the way he has handled climate change.

2024 Rematch?

Currently, former President Donald Trump is beating all of the other Republicans in the primary. He’s very far ahead of his two closest competitors, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former US Ambassador Nikki Haley. It appears that he’s going to be the Republican nominee for president. That means 2024 is going to be a repeat of the 2020 election.

FiveThirtyEight’s polling shows the former president either beating Biden or tying with him in all of the major polls. For example, YouGov has both of them at 44%. Morning Consult shows the 45th president at 44% and the 46th president at 42%. Emerson College has Trump up 48% to Biden’s 40%.

If Biden continues on the path he’s on, it’s going to be very hard for him to get the turnout he needs to beat Trump.
