Federal Office Building Swarmed by Pro-Palestinian ‘Insurrectionists’

(UnitedVoice.com) – The latest war in the Middle East is now spilling out onto American streets. Recently, a pro-Palestinian mob occupied a federal office building in the nation’s capital — and, shockingly, the protesters were led by a US lawmaker. Now, Conservatives say double standards are in play when it comes to Capitol protests.

Pro-Palestine Demos Erupt

Since Hamas terrorists slaughtered Israelis on October 7, western Liberals have been taking to the streets in support. They didn’t even wait for Israel to hit back — they simply began marching in support of the Palestinians while troops were still tracking down the last of the terrorist death squads. Two weeks later, as Israeli jets pound Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, the protests are gaining strength and boldness. In the latest incident, a mob led by a Democratic politician took over one of Congress’s offices in the heart of Washington, DC.

On October 18, around a hundred protesters, with Representative Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) at their head, burst into the Cannon Office Building, where many congressmen and House staffers have offices. Many were wearing black T-shirts with the slogan “Not in our name.” Others carried banners demanding that Israel stop its air strikes on Hamas targets. Tlaib also addressed a crowd outside the building, standing in front of a banner that read “ceasefire.”

Tlaib’s parents are Palestinian immigrants, and there were other Palestinian-Americans in the mob that stormed the Cannon building — but their numbers also included left-wing activists and anti-Zionist Jews. It’s worrying that so many Americans are so blindly hostile to Israel, a democratic state that’s also a close US ally. Some think it’s even more worrying that there are such blatant double standards when it comes to left-wing protests.

Did Tlaib Lead an Insurrection?

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) was at the Cannon building during the protest and posted a video to social media showing a chanting crowd occupying the lobby. She commented, “There’s an insurrection happening now on Capitol Hill… They are claiming they want peace but they want money to go to terrorists.”

Later, Capitol Police led the protesters out of the building — but it was a low-key operation. Conservative writer Luca Cacciatore contrasted it with the January 6, 2021 demonstration, saying, “Insurrection — when conservatives demonstrate … Protest — when liberals demonstrate.”

Greene agrees; she’s now asked the Capitol Police to save video of the event and is calling for Tlaib to be censured for her role in the protest. Will the “Squad” member face any consequences for leading a protest in the heart of our government? Some aren’t so sure.
