Soros Group Paying to Silence Conservative Voices

(UnitedVoice.com) – Billionaire George Soros is one of the Democratic Party’s largest donors. He spends millions of dollars pushing their various causes. He has even used his money to reshape the criminal justice system, something that’s been blamed for the uptick in crime.

Soros is also accused of funding an organization that wants to censor people who might take issue with the upcoming election or narratives pushed by the Left. The effort is a clear attack on Conservatives.

Free Press… Not

On April 9, Free Press, a media organization that Soros has contributed to, issued a press release bragging about a letter sent to various social media companies. The letter was signed by more than 200 groups and sent to the CEOs of Discord, Instagram, Google, Meta, Redditt, Pinterest, Twitch, YouTube, X, TikTok, and Snap Inc. It called on the tech giants to strengthen their platform-integrity efforts in order to protect worldwide elections in 2024.

According to the letter, 60 countries will hold elections this year. The groups claim there’s evidence that the world is sliding toward authoritarianism. Further, the letter asserts that individuals can now cause harm by having an “outsized impact on online discourse.” Some of those harms are reported attempts to overthrow democratic governments, a likely dig at Conservatives who marched on Washington DC on January 6, 2021.

Six Demands

The letter calls on the CEOs to take six steps to reinforce election integrity on their platforms:

  1. Require users to disclose artificial intelligence (AI) generated political content, including when it’s used in advertisements. They also want deepfakes in political ads to be prohibited, the companies to promote factual content with changes to their algorithms, and the use of safety features to combat the issues with AI.
  2. Invest in reinstating election-integrity policies that would combat the lies about the 2020 election, hire more staff to focus on election integrity, and make sure the enforcement spans different languages.
  3. Enforce rules against hate and lies in political advertisements, have human moderators view the ads, and label any that use AI.
  4. Ensure public figures and influencers are held to the same standards as average users.
  5. Reduce the visibility of content that has been flagged.
  6. Allow researchers and journalists to have access to the data and other information used to moderate content.

The heads of the platforms have not responded to the demands by the groups publicly in the month since they sent the letter out. One thing that’s clear, the entire effort is a direct attack on Conservatives who exercised their First Amendment rights after the last general election.
